The Franciscan Friars of the Our Lady of the Angels Province are Catholic religious priests and brothers who have committed their lives to spreading the Gospel and following Christ. As one of the three branches that make up the First Order of St. Francis of Assisi, the Franciscan Friars Conventual trace their roots directly back to their founder who died in 1226. Conventual Franciscans emphasize communal living and service in urban centers. We are blessed to steward this sacred ground and keep all those who rest here, and their loved ones, in prayer.
While Assumption Cemetery shares the name of Assumption Church, another site served by friars in Syracuse, the cemetery is independent of the parish open to any and all who wish to have this site as their final resting place.
